Achari Okra Recipe
ACHARI OKRA RECIPE | NORTH INDIAN STYLE OKRA RECIPE | BADWATER BASIN DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
What is Achari? Achar refers to Indian pickles. It’s spicy, tangy and made with spices and oil. The mustard seeds and fennel seeds used in this recipe gives the achar taste. This achari okra goes well with rotis and parathas.
Also enjoy watching the stunning view of the BadWater Basin, one of the must-see sights in Death Valley National Park.
Ingredients
Oil - 1 ½ tbsp
Okra/Bhindi - 500gms
Pink salt - ½ tsp
For Gravy
Oil - 1 tbsp
Onion - 1 medium chopped quarter-sized pieces
Tomato - 1
Tomato paste - 1 tsp
Green chili - 1
Curry leaves - 1 string
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Yogurt - ¼ cup and 3 tbsp water
Cilantro - ¼ cup chopped
Panch phoron
Mustard seeds - ¼ tsp
Cumin seeds - ¼ tsp
Fennel seeds - ¼ tsp
Methi seeds - ½ tsp
Kalonji - ¼ tsp
Dry ingredients
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Red chili powder - ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Dry mango powder - ½ tsp
Sugar/Jaggery - ¼ tsp
Pink salt - ½ tsp
